The Kaleidescape System
The Kaleidescape System simplifies the way you
collect, manage and enjoy movies and music. Once your
personal entertainment collection is stored on the
Kaleidescape System's fault-tolerant Servers, you can
say goodbye to DVD and CD clutter and the frustration of
storing and organizing your movies and music. And, since
your Kaleidescape System uses high-speed networking to
deliver your favorite movies and music throughout your
home, you can instantly access and enjoy them when and
where it's convenient for you, your family or your
guests.
The Kaleidescape System comprises three primary
components: Servers, Movie Players and Music Players.
They can be combined in myriad ways to deliver movies
and music seamlessly throughout your home.
Kaleidescape Servers are engineered to reliably store
your movie and music collection, protecting your
entertainment investment. As your collection grows you
can add additional Kaleidescape Disk Cartridges, or
group multiple Servers for a collection of thousands of
movies and tens of thousands of albums.
The 3U Server provides four times the capacity of the
1U Server, and features a Hot Spare Disk Cartridge for
even better storage reliability and peace of mind in
marine and other remote installations. Once your movies
and music are stored on your Kaleidescape Servers, they
can be enjoyed instantly in any room with a Player.
The 1080p Player creates beautiful high definition
video from your DVDs, providing a viewing experience
that rivals Blu-ray. The 1080p Player adapts its video
processing to the type of content being viewed to
achieve results impossible for an external scaler.
Insert a disc into a 1080p Player and enjoy detailed
information about the movie or album, including cover
art, movie synopsis, album review, and track names.
Select "Play Movie" on the onscreen display (OSD), and
enjoy watching the movie without trailers or
advertisements - even for rental movies!
The 1080p Mini Player offers the video and audio
performance of the 1080p Player, in a compact package.
Its small size and near-silent operation means it can be
installed inconspicuously in the viewing room. Designed
to play back movies and music from a Kaleidescape
Server, the 1080p Mini Player is perfect for locations
where import and direct playback of DVDs or CDs are not
required.
The Music Player is a high-performance audio
component designed to import into and play back music
from a Kaleidescape Server. Each of the four independent
zones simultaneously delivers high-quality audio in both
digital and analog stereo. The built-in combo drive
imports DVDs as well as CDs providing additional
flexibility to import Movies in Systems supporting both
Movies and Music.
The Speed Reader imports large numbers of DVDs and
CDs into a Kaleidescape System. More content, whether
from your private collection or one of Kaleidescape's
carefully compiled DVD Collections, makes the
Kaleidescape Experience even more compelling and
engaging.
Escient Vision
The all in one server/player, the VS model, comes in two
versions, the VS-100 and VS-200. The VS-100 provides
dual 500GB drives while the VS-200 provides dual 1TB
drives, both feature reliable RAID 1 redundancy.
Stand-alone the VS server/player allows the user to
import movies, music, and photos to the hard drive for
management and playback. The VS-100 and VS-200 have
storage capabilities of about 100 and 200 movies
respectively.
